“We can communicate without words.”
“All I have to do is nod my head and my team knows what I mean.”
“We’re so in sync with each other. It’s hard to describe.”
These are just a few of the common phrases that can be heard around CTE Logistics on any given day. Across several buildings, both in the office and the warehouse, team members at CTE have found a flow with one another that feels easy and harmonious, even when the workload is heavy.
Our people have found such strong flow with one another that they frequently say it’s one of their favorite parts of the job.
Take Warehouse Associate Tyler Wells. As he was describing the dynamic of his job and how his co-workers make his day more enjoyable, he referenced the harmonious nature of the team.
“The comradery here makes my job great,” Wells said. “Being as many of us drive a forklift, we often communicate with each other through body language – a head nod or a shrug. It’s amazing. We’re always keeping the flow.”
It turns out the qualities Tyler describes of his team are the makings of an excellent workplace environment and culture. According to Forbes.com, Employees who acted collaboratively stuck at their tasks 64 percent longer than their solitary peers, whilst also reporting higher engagement levels, lower fatigue levels and higher success rates. Workplace collaboration can also increase successful innovation by 15 percent.
Fostering a culture of collaboration means CTE is able to deliver on a long-standing promise since day one – always ensuring a commitment to excellence.
Long-time team member Eric Grubb, who has been with CTE for 10 years and counting, even says his daily motto is “make sure the flow is going.” Every day, he gets into the office at least 30 minutes early to get a jump on paperwork and the workload for the day. That way, when the rest of the team arrives, they’re able to better get into a groove and providing the highest level of service possible.
Transportation Specialist Katie Tillman also cited how tapping into the power of flow has helped her build a career at CTE. Katie says working with her colleagues Blair Grant and Jamie Hunt has been so seamless for her that she’s been able to take on new challenges, such as estimating full truck loads and multi-truckloads. Being in sync with her team has also inspired her to get a coveted industry certification, The Certified Transportation Broker (CTB), which Blair and Jamie also hold.
Building a culture of flow has been intentional from the beginning. We’re building this together, as we often say. The family-feel atmosphere helps to foster an environment that feels harmonious, efficient and team-centered – an intention that was set from day one at CTE.
